Les 3 Glorieuses Les 3 Glorieuses refers to the second French revolution after 1789. It led to the selection of a new king, Louis-Philippe who took the power of the regime called July Monarchy. This revolution was indeed a revolt that took place over three days, July 27th, 28th and 29th, in 1830. These days are called “Trois Glorieuses”. The revolution began after a long period of parliamentary and ministerial instability in which king Charles X tried a kind of coup with his ordinances of Saint-Cloud on July 25, 1830. As a reaction, the emerging revolt became a republican revolution. The people of Paris protested and built barricades to fight against the armed forces. The fighting caused 200 deaths on the soldiers’ side and 800 deaths on the insurgents’ side. After the hesitation of 1830, the constitutional monarchy was maintained thanks to a change of dynasty. Louis-Philippe 1st was proclaimed “King of the French” and no longer “King of France”. History of The Genius of La Bastille The column of “Trois Glorieuses” (also known as July Column) celebrates the three days in July in which the second French revolution took place. It was during this time that King Charles X of France fell and the duke of Orleans, Louis-Philippe, became the “King of the French”. In 1833, a law proclaimed that. One monument would be dedicated to the memory of the events of July. That same year, Louis Philippe decided to build a monument that presented the Genius of Liberty. Le Génie, Symbol of France’s Liberty Since September 29, 1995, the monument has been designated as a historic monument. Le Genie de las Bastille (or Genius of Liberty) is on top of the July column. It represents a free man, with a torch breaking the shackles of despotism. Each package is fully insured. There are no exceptions to this rule. American Eagles or Canadian Maple Leafs is affected by many economic factors, including the current market price of Bullion, the perceived scarcity of the Coins and other factors. Some of these factors include the quality, and current demand and general market sentiment. Therefore, because both Bullion and Coins can go down in price as well as up, investing in them may not be suitable for everyone. Because all investments, including Bullion and Coins, can decline in value, you should understand them well, and have adequate cash reserves and disposable income before considering a Bullion or Coin investment. Please consult your financial advisor. APMEX does guarantee that every item that we sell is genuine and that all Precious Metal items do contain the weight, fineness, and purity that we have advertised. However, all investments, of every type, involve some level of risk and Precious Metals are no exception. Like many markets, the Precious Metals market is speculative, and it is unregulated. The value of any Bullion item is generally determined by current spot price of the underlying Precious Metal and by the supply and demand for these particular items. These prices will fluctuate throughout the day while the Precious Metals market is open. If you are considering purchasing Precious Metals as an investment, you should assess the stability of the current market and contact your financial advisor for all advice.
